As I started making this album my I realized that my guitar playing had become terrible. One of the symptoms of Parkinson’s is slowness of movement - not great for playing guitar. Add muscle rigidity it makes  playing anything acceptable pretty difficult.

At the same time Suno Ai improved dramatically. And after struggling on several songs, I decided I would let the Suno do the heavy lifting. On my previous album I spent a great deal of time replacing whatever Suno tracks I could. This time I left it for the most part.

I still feel that this is my music. I write the songs. I record a demo that usually includes bass, piano, drums guitar and my vocals. If there’s a guitar solo I record that as well - mistakes and all. Suno comes back with my solo exactly as I wanted it to sound. Sometimes note for note, sometimes with added phrases or embellishments that I wouldn’t have thought of. And it eliminates my mistakes and wrong notes.

There are two vocalists on the album, Morduch Rabinow sings most of the songs. My voice is on the others.

When I upload my demo I spend a lot of time describing the style so that Suno will interpret my songs in a way I like. Then I have to provide prompts within the lyrics that tell Suno how I want the vocalist to sing my songs.  Then I typically run fifty or a hundred versions before I find something I like.

When I finally have a version I like I download the stems ( tracks) and tweak them in my DAW usually Logic Pro. In Logic I mix and master the song for distribution.
